It has been years in the making, beginning by writing about my own journey of learning and transformation through loving my own children, then receiving the mothering stories of many women at different stages of their mothering journeys, sharing how learning to love and nurture their own children has ignited growth and transformation within themselves.
With the constant support of the fabulous independent small press Mother’s Milk Books, I have written Milestones of Motherhood around my own family life, living and re-living the milestones of love, trust, compassion, empathy and surrender over and over again.
Milestones of Motherhood celebrates the transformation that arises from learning to love and care for our children…the joys, the overwhelm, the striving for perfection, the moments of tenderness, the grit and soul deep love, the doubt, the challenge and the clawing anxiety of ‘am I doing a good enough job…?’
From the back cover:
How have you changed through learning to love and nurture your children?
Have you even had the time to ask yourself this question?
Mothering, with all its joys and challenges, requires an immense investment of our practical and emotional resources. Yet it is also a journey which ignites great learning and personal transformation for the women who walk it. With contributions from women at all stages of the mothering journey, it is this inner journey of learning and transformation which Clare Cooper celebrates.
Exploring inner milestones of love, trust, empathy, surrender, strength and spirituality, Clare charts this journey from our children’s conception to their independence. Milestones of Motherhood is a call to value the inherent worth and meaning of mothering work, to recognise the personal transformation mothering ignites, and above all to share the message that work on the mothering path is never time wasted but always love invested.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me in the journey of writing Milestones of Motherhood. She is finally here, she is full of stories of love, trust and compassion and her message, loud and clear is to value and celebrate all of the work we do upon the mothering path and recognise the personal learning and transformation this ignites.
She has certainly been worth the wait.
